HTC has officially recieved lawsuit from Apple which claims HTC has infringed upon over 20 different patents from Apple’s bread and butter – the iPhone. Steve Jobs who is the CEO and co-founder has mentioned that Apple can sit idle whilst competitors steal their inventions that are protected by patents or they can do something about it and they have decided to protect their intellectual property and do something about this.

Apple is already in the process of suing Nokia and claim HTC has infringed the iPhones patents which include the hardware, interface and also the underlying architecture. So far HTC has not responded to the claims but have released a statement saying they are waiting until they read all of details surrounding the lawsuit before replying to the claim.

HTC has just recently released the HTC Desire mobile phone and has been touted as one of the nicest mobile phones so far launched in Q1 and perhaps this is why Apple is taking exception to this as the market gets more and more competitive.
