Nokia Carla Not Cancelled, To Be Released This Year

Nokia Carla Not Cancelled, To Be Released This Year

It appears that the earlier news regarding Symbian’s demise have been false. The popular operating system, which has recently lost the Symbian name and is now known as Belle in its latest version, was reportedly being phased out by Nokia, despite earlier claims that two more versions would be developed during the upcoming years, named Carla and Donna. Now rumours have surfaced suggesting that Nokia won’t let go of its trusty platform. Reportedly by Q3, 2012, all the original Belle smartphones will be shipped with Carla pre-installed, including the Nokia 603, 700 and 701. All the rest will receive Carla via an over-the-air update closer to the end of the year. The list includes the Nokia N8, C7, X7 and all the other devices that have just been upgraded to Belle.

‘Pure View’ tech recently leaked by Nokia itself, but we’ll have to wait until Monday to know for sure. Hopefully Donna is still in the plans as well.
