Sony Xperia S Deals on Three
Even though we’re not sure about Sony’s recent models, which seem to look a bit too similar to one another, let’s not forget that there was a phone that started it all – the Xperia S. Revealed at this year’s CES, the Xperia S started a new era for the company, one with a new name and a new design direction. The phone may not be on par with the latest quad-core beasts, but nevertheless it’s the current flagship of the Japanese company and is a quite tempting package. As expected, Three has some nice deals designed for the phone, with “One Plan” being probably the most interesting one. For about £36 monthly, it’ll get you 2,000 minutes, 5,000 SMS and unlimited data. Of course there are other deals available as well, should this one fail to attract your interest.
As already stated, the Xperia S doesn’t pack the latest hardware, but it does manage to perform consistently well in all departments. Powering the phone is a dual-core chip clocked at 1.5 Ghz and equipped with 1 GB of RAM. The Xperia S sports an excellent 4.3-inch LED-backlit LCD screen with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. On the back there’s a 12-megapixel camera that makes 1080p videos a breeze, plus a secondary 1.3-megapixel one is present on the front. There is no microSD card slot sadly, but 32 gigs of internal memory should be enough for most users’ needs. All the connectivity options are present of course, including Near Field Communication. For now the Xperia S is running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but pretty soon an Ice Cream Sandwich update should become available for download. The phone also features a pretty respectable 1750 mAh battery, which should hopefully make it last though a day of usage.
