Sony Xperia S Already Available

Sony Xperia S Already Available

If you’re one of those who fell in love with Sony’s new Xperia S the moment you saw the first reports from CES 2012, then it’s about time to check your bank account, as the smartphone has already started shipping worldwide and is available here in the UK on three different carriers – Orange, O2 and Three. Quite a few interesting Ice Cream Sandwich, probably via an over-the-air update.

Xperia U models as well. The curves of the older phones have been ditched in favour of straight lines and a minimalistic approach, and it all seems to work nicely – the Xperia S is one good looking handset. The internals are fresh as well – the Xperia S is the first device from Sony to feature a dual-core CPU; it’s clocked at 1.5GHz and makes use of 1 GB of RAM. The camera is another highlight – the 12-megapixel unit comes with a LED flash and can easily shoot 1080p videos at 30 frames per second with continuous auto-focus. The Xperia S also has a LED-backlit LCD screen measuring at 4.3 inches and with a 720×1280 resolution. Even though the phone doesn’t have a memory card slot, 32 gigs of internal storage should be enough for most users. The phone has all the current connectivity options, including Wi-Fi Direct and NFC, but for some reason the Bluetooth module is only of version 2.1.
