HTC Is The First Partner Of Sony PlayStation Mobile

HTC Is The First Partner Of Sony PlayStation Mobile

Recently Sony denied the rumors about the possible launch of the follow-up to the Xperia Play. As you know this is the only smartphone with PlayStation certification meaning only this handset is authorized to run PlayStation Suite games. However, the latest announcement killed all our hopes to see a more powerful Xperia Play, but, on the other hand, Sony said they were going to integrate PlayStation into all devices, including TVs, laptops, tablets and smartphones. So Sony wants to bring its unique games to more devices in order to get more income, and now HTC is the first manufacturer included in this Sony PlayStation certified program.

This means the HTC One handsets will probably come with PlayStation games. All One smartphones such as the One X, S and V will be able to run those games, but there is no word from Sony or HTC whether other HTC smartphones will be getting this feature, too.

Moreover, Sony has renamed the PlayStation Suite to PlayStation Mobile, which can mean we will deal with a new platform. It could have been expected because PlayStation’s former platform was designed especially for Sony products, and now when the company wants to bring it to more manufacturers, it’ll have to make some changes.

On this occasion, the chief production officer for HTC Corps, Kouji Kodera has said:

HTC is focused on delivering innovative mobile experiences for people everywhere and SCE’s immersive world of gaming will bring compelling entertainment to HTC One customers across the globe.

Though everyone is currently talking about HTC’s possible prospects thanks to this agreement, we should note that other manufacturers will join the Sony PlayStation certified program in the nearest future not to miss the chance to grab the segment of the market where gamers are gathered.
