Sony Xperia Miro Unveiled
Just yesterday I wrote that Sony had started an interesting campaign allowing users to decide when the next Xperia handset will be launched. According to yesterday’s info, the phone should be unveiled on June 21, but it turns out consumers were very active, and the company was forced to announce that new device yesterday. The countdown is over, and we know the next Xperia smartphone’s name and some features.
Meet the Sony Xperia Miro! The phone was initially unveiled on Sony’s Facebook page, and it comes with integration with social networking sites, so there was some sense in promoting it via Facebook, and we must admit that’s an original idea. However, the Xperia Miro looks similar to the Xperia Sola, though there are many differences inside that throw these handsets into different categories. The Xperia Miro will most likely be a low-end smartphone, but this is just an assumption at the moment — we don’t know much about its features yet.

Not that much is known at this moment, but we have been informed that the Miro will be equipped with a 5MP rear camera and will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Sony’s UXP NXT software. Unfortunately, this is all we know about the features of this phone at the moment, but more details are coming soon.
Finally, the video below shows there will be some expansion of the company’s “Facebook Inside Xperia” initiative.
At the moment, we only can assume the Sony Xperia Miro will be launched for Europe only — there is no hint at US availability yet. But if this colorful smartphone succeeds, maybe the manufacturer will launch it in other countries as well. We still don’t know the key features of the phone, but we know it’ll be dressed in silver, black, pink and gold.
