Sony Xperia S Getting Android 4.0.4 ICS Update
After pushing out the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update for its “older” models, Sony decided to bring it to the newer handsets such as the Sony Xperia S. So the owners of the Xperia S can download the update right now.
In addition to ICS the update also brings several new Sony-developed apps to the phone. The new Sony apps include the WALKMAN app, which combines social sharing features with a music player. There is also an Album app for browsing photos on the phone and on Facebook. And one of the most useful apps is the Movie app, which offers high-quality audio and video playback and enhanced information about the selected movie.
The update can be downloaded using a Wi-Fi connection, or it can be done via Sony PC Companion for Windows PCs and Bridge for Mac computers. By the way, your Sony Xperia S must be charged at least by 50%, otherwise the updating won’t start. If you meet any problems during the download and update, you can try to change the PC and repeat the updating on another computer. If there is still a problem when downloading the update, we recommend you to restart the computer and load it in safe mode. And the last advice we can give you is to disable the antivirus program.
Below is a video showing what new features Sony has added to the update, but before you start updating your phone, check out its SI (Sales Item), because Sony launches this Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update in batches, and there’s a chance it hasn’t reached your location yet.
