HTC Vertex Spotted In Benchmark Test

HTC Vertex Spotted In Benchmark Test

HTC is one of those manufacturers that make more smartphones than tablets — their tablets didn’t really succeed. Currently there are only two tablets made by HTC – the Flyer and the Jetstream, but almost all units sold till today were picked up thanks to the reputation of their manufacturer and not because of their distinguishing features. At the moment, this market is full of different Android slates, but they all look almost identically and have similar features, that’s why the new iPad dominates there. The upcoming Google Nexus 7 and Microsoft Surface can change the balance of forces, but they are not the only enemies of Apple, as HTC wants to enter with the game with a new tablet as well.

Yesterday we were talking about a new slate that should come to the UK in the near future. But I talked with many HTC fans and only a few of them are sure the upcoming tablet will be something special, vice versa, most people think HTC is not ready to re-enter this market. Maybe they’re right, who knows…

According to a Japanese Blog, HTC is testing a mysterious tablet known as the HTC Vertex. It should come with a 10.1-inch display at a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor with four cores, Bluetooth 4.0, Beats Audio, a 2MP camera on the back and a 1.3MP shooter on the front. It will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.

Well, the specs list is good, but does it have any unique selling point? If it costs much, nobody will buy it, since everyone is obsessed with the Apple iPad. So the HTC Vortex really needs a selling point, otherwise it’s doomed to failure…
