Sony Xperia Acro S To Launch In Taiwan On July 19
When we want to buy a durable device, Nokia and Motorola are the first companies that come to our minds. It’s quite natural, since Nokia has always been famous for making highly resistant phones, and Motorola has the rugged Defy line. However, Sony has also joined the game by announcing two rugged smartphones — the Xperia Go and Acro S.
The Xperia Go doesn’t boast of high-end features and its selling point is its IP67 certificate, which means the phone can withstand submersion in up to one meter for 30 minutes. The device was released in the UK on July 2 via O2, but unfortunately, we have no idea when its sibling will be released and which mobile operators will offer it. However, now we have some news regarding its release in Taiwan, which makes us think it will soon be released here, too.

According to ePrice, the Sony Xperia Acro S will be launched first in Taiwan next week, on July 19. Probably, it will then by launched in China, though this is an assumption only. Moreover, the source has managed to take a closer look at the phone and shoot a couple of photos demonstrating its waterproof abilities.
The Xperia Acro S sports a 4.3-inch HD Reality Display with Sony’s Mobile BRAVIA engine at a resolution of 1280×720 pixels (720p), a dual-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, a 12MP camera on the back (capable of recording 1080p HD videos), a 1.3MP frontal camera for web chat (it can also record videos at 720p though), PlayStation certification, NFC, 16GB of internal memory, which can be expanded due to a microSD card slot, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of box.
The pricing remains unknown but do not hope to pick it up without opening your purse.
