I have grabbed several phones that come with a kickstand. Mistakenly I used to think there should be more handsets with such a useful feature (you can watch videos and do many, many other things on your phone if it has a kickstand), but alas — I could only find several HTC smartphones. And here they are:

The HTC Surround was released back in November, 2010, when Microsoft had just announced its new software, Windows Phone 7, and many geeks’ attention was directed to all phones coming with this OS. The Surround was a real gift for all those people who love the multimedia features of a smartphone. The Surround was launched with a 3.8-inch touchscreen, a 1GHz processor, 16GB of internal memory, 448MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM, a 5MP camera and WP 7, but its selling points were the sliding speakers that also provide a special kickstand. The HTC Surround was also launched with Dolby Mobile and SRS sound enhancement.

HTC’s next Windows Phone 7 smartphone was launched in June, 2011. It was the HTC HD7S, the kickstand of which is made in an interesting way — it is around the camera surround. The rest of features include a 4.3-inch touchscreen, a 1GHz processor, 16GB of internal storage, 576MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM, a 5MP camera with dual-LED flash and so on.

Sprint is one of those mobile operators that like to add different kinds of unique features to its devices. The HTC Evo line smartphones are no exception. The first device to come with a kickstand was the Evo 4G, but a few weeks ago Sprint launched its successor called the HTC Evo 4G LTE. Both of them are high-end smartphones with outstanding features. As they are US-only handsets, I think I’ll skip the specs lists.

Finally, I want to introduce you the HTC Thunderbolt, which was launched in the US via Verizon. It was the first LTE smartphone coming with many revolutionary features, and among them was the kickstand on the back.

As you see, HTC likes kickstands, and we like HTC. So if you want to purchase a smartphone that will match your multimedia wishes, you know what a brand to choose.
