HTC Proto Leaked In A Photo

HTC Proto Leaked In A Photo

The only thing that distinguishes Apple from other smartphone makers is that all other companies launch many devices a year, while Apple releases only one, so if you buy the newest iPhone, you’ll know that at least for a year the manufacturer won’t release anything cooler. The opposite strategy once led Taiwanese HTC to to failure: people didn’t like it when HTC released dozens on phones — they bought a high-end handset, and HTC launched another one on the next day — it was annoying.

Now it looks like HTC couldn’t learn from its own mistakes. Though at the beginning of this year HTC said not to expect many smartphones but the One series, it doesn’t seem to keep its word — another HTC handset has leaked in a wild photo.

This new device is the HTC Proto, a low-end smartphone, which is considered to be the successor of the HTC One V. Unlike the latter, the Proto is packed with a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen, and the 1GHz single-core processor is replaced with a dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8225 S4 processor. The RAM remains at the same, 512MB, and the 5MP camera is also the same.

The HTC Proto does not claim to belong to the high-end or mid-range category, but it has its own advantages, and the first one is its design — it looks quite stylish, and if the company sets affordable price tags, this phone can succeed. At the moment, the only thing we want is the official announcement.
